DUTIES:

  • Reporting to the Supervisor of Child Care Subsidy, this position will be responsible for completing applications for child care subsidy assistance; documenting and verifying information;
  • Making decisions as to eligibility for child care subsidy;
  • Maintaining, organizing and updating on a regular basis, a subsidy caseload.
  • Ensuring that legislative requirements are met and quality customer service is provided;
  • Identifying customer needs and making appropriate community referrals;
  • Develop and maintain a good rapport with customers and other staff members.
  • Will perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation’s Health and Safety Program. 
  • Will perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a three (3) year University Degree in Social Sciences or Social Work or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency;
  • Must have over one (1) year of experience in a Social Services setting;
  • Must be a mature person who can demonstrate sensitivity to customer needs and who has a good knowledge of Social Services and/or Early Childhood Education;
  • Experience working with direct delivery of child care considered an asset:
  • Ability to work in a computerized environment with operating knowledge and training in SAMS and OCCMS considered an asset;
  • The physical demands analysis associated with this job indicates a sedentary level of work.
