Human Resource Business Partner

Windsor International Airport (“YQG”) is currently recruiting for the position of Human Resource Business Partner. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Human Resource Business Partner is responsible for ensuring corporate compliance with all regulatory aspects of the Canada Labour Code and Regulations and Human Rights Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, corporate policies and procedures, and other industry standards as necessary. The Human Resource Business Partner will also be responsible for the administration and maintenance of employee files, benefit and pension administration, recruitment activities, employee and labour relations, health and safety program administration and other workforce development matters.

General Responsibilities:  

  • Provide HR support to all departments of the organization
  • Promote, implement, and communicate policies, regulations and standards
  • Provide guidance and coaching to management on a variety of HR related topics
  • Coordinate and facilitate all recruitment activities including job postings, interviews, reference checks, and offers of employment
  • Identify training and development needs through performance management systems and legislative requirements
  • Maintain an effective health and safety program including development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain and administer the corporate employee wellness program
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form including maintenance of human resources information systems
  • Coordinate and advise staff and management regarding employee benefits and pension, including enrolment, termination, change of records
  • Support and participate in collective bargaining negotiations as a member of the employer’s negotiating team, including but not limited to assisting in the drafting and documenting of proposals, and providing other HR and administrative support in collective bargaining
  • Provide guidance to management staff in the consistent application and interpretation of the collective bargaining agreement
  • Participate on behalf of YQG in the administration of the Collective Agreement’s grievance and arbitration procedures
  • Remain current on HR best practices and ensure compliance with legislative requirements
  • Other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Business, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in human resources or health and safety
  • CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) designation or willingness and ability to continue education and training courses as may be necessary to the position
  • CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) an asset
  • Proficient time management skills and flexibility in adjusting between a variety of duties
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, problem-solving, reading, oral and written communication, planning, time management and organizational skills including presentation skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS system
