RATE OF PAY:         $97,886.95 to $118,982.70 Annually

DUTIES:

  • Reporting to the Manager, Aquatics or designate, this position will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and directing the on-site Fitness Centre, the Customer Service Counter, Concessions, Adventure Bay, retail and others. 
  • Responsible for marketing and developing strategies for increasing tourism. 
  • Provides supervision, direction and overall oversight of full and part time staff in the Fitness Centre, Customer Service desk, concessions, and retail store. 
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining corporate partnerships and sponsorships.  Development of new revenue generating opportunities for the department. 
  • Plans, develops, oversees and supervises special events including development of promotional signs, marketing materials, social networking, staging, decorations, developing sponsor relationships etc. 
  • Will perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation’s Health and Safety Program. 
  • Will perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a University degree in Recreation, Human Kinetics, Physical Education, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in facility management, sales and marketing and guest services; OR
  • Must have a community college diploma in Recreation, Business Administration or related field or  Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency and over ten (10) years of experience in facility management, sales and marketing and guest services;
  • Must have the ability to travel to off site locations in a timely and expedient manner as required.  If method of travel is by vehicle, a current valid and lawful Driver’s License is required in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act and must provide a driver’s abstract as a condition of employment;
  • Must have working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of Products;
  • Must have proven oral and written communication skills;
  • Should have knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, its regulations and knowledge of the hazards associated with the work.
  • Will be required to complete and remain current as per the requirements of the Corporation’s Management Certificate Program.
  • Progression through the Art of Supervision Program Certificate or a supervisory program of a similar nature is considered an asset.
  • The physical demands analysis associated with this job indicates a light level of work.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) designation considered an asset:
  • Certification in Lifesaving Society Aquatic Management Training (AMT) considered an asset;
