RATE OF PAY:  $22.96 to $30.61 per hour

DUTIES:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisors, this position will be responsible for ensuring that the fleet is cleaned and serviced to meet Transit Windsor’s fleet standards.  Regular service line duties include service calls; emptying fare boxes; fuelling; check and filling fluid levels; checking tire air pressure; inspecting buses for damage; replacing bus lights; and cleaning bus interior.  Cleaning bus exterior through bus wash and cleaning and dumping of washroom facilities on private/outside coaches etc.  Servicing Transit Windsor’s support vehicles as well as private/outside vehicles.  Responsible for frequent lifting and carrying of cash boxes from inside bus to cash office vault and dumping contents into vault. Will ensure compliance with corporate health and safety program and legislation as per the Canada Labour Code Part II.  Will perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency. 
  • Must hold and maintain a current valid and lawful Class G driver’s licence in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act, for the purposes of operating a City of Windsor vehicle and provide authorization for Transit Windsor to obtain a driver’s abstract as a condition of employment.
  • Must be able to drive a standard, stick shift vehicle.
  • Must train for and successfully achieve license upgrades as necessary.
  • Must have maintained an excellent job performance record.
  • Should have knowledge of the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and knowledge of the hazards associated with work.
  • The physical demands analysis associated with this job indicates a medium to heavy level of work.
  • Must complete a post-offer agility test in an effort to assist the successful candidate in completing the position tasks safely and to aid in minimizing injuries on the job.
